Welcome to the Fourth Room; the Spiritual Room.
A place to learn and practice Meditation & Mindfulness
What’s this all about?
We are given a mind, but not a manual.
Our mind has the potential to bring us happiness, peace, and freedom. Yet, many of us experience dissatisfaction, disappointment and often despair. We do our best, and yet we fall into the same traps, over and over again. Instead of assembling a life of meaning we find ourselves every morning picking up the pieces of the day before. We feel overwhelmed by our ‘To Do’ lists and sometimes it all seems just too much, in those moments we suffer.
Yet all these thoughts and emotions exist only in our mind. They appear and disappear, spin around and cause chaos, they block, confuse and fool us, and worst of all they often hand out great dollops of emotional pain.
But what if there was a manual? What if we just aren’t using our minds properly
The good news is there is a manual and there’s also a way to detox and fine-tune our mind!
Mindfulness is the Manual, and Meditation is the Maintenance.
What you can expect
This is a space, a clearing in the dense forest, to pause, to learn, and to sit together.
It’s unlikely that you will experience nirvana or enlightenment here, but you might just come away feeling more peaceful, more resilient, and a little bit better about yourself. Your mind might sense the possibility of clarity, focus, and stillness.
Perhaps happiness, peace, and freedom are not destinations to pursue and strive after. What if they’re the gifts of a well trained mind?
Change has three ingredients; knowledge, practice, and community. I hope you find them here.
Who am I?
I am a Meditation & Mindfulness teacher trained by Jack Kornfeld & Tara Brach and certified by the University of California, Berkeley. I live in Galway on the west coast of Ireland.
I was first introduced to Mindfulness & Meditation twenty years ago through the books & teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn a venerated Zen Buddhist monk. Mindfulness is a common sense approach to the complex challenge of living.
Even though I have meditated for over twenty years I still find life difficult & challenging, I know I always will. However, in my lifetime the world has changed beyond recognition, now more than ever we need a tried & trusted Wisdom to help us find meaning & beauty in our world.
We experience our whole life inside our mind, our life can only improve if we take care of its home.
